The Washing Line is a social enterprise wholly owned by the Seahouses Development Trust charity. All profits made by the laundry are re-invested by the Trust back into the local community by supporting youth projects, offering training and sustaining our community buildings and the services they provide, for example.
The washing line provides two types of services - those for business customers and those for personal customers.
For our business customers, we provide a complete laundry service - washing, drying, steam ironing and a collection and delivery service if needed - and can launder towels, sheets, duvet covers, quilts, bedspreads, tablecloths, chef's uniforms and other such business related items. We work with B&Bs, hotels and self-catering cottages, providing a level of service up to 4*. We use a large steam roller iron so that we can iron up to super-king sized items and are able to accept duvets for cleaning. We recently invested in a brand new store room that is thermostatically controlled in order to keep linen aired before and after being laundered. We have also been working towards providing linen for hire and are now pleased to announce that we have a range of Egyptian cotton linen and towels for hire on a weekly basis.
For personal customers (and our business customers, if required), we offer service washes. Anyone can drop off their personal clothing or duvets and we will wash and dry them, or for a full service have them ironed as well. We are also agents for dry cleaning services.
